Work Experience
Production assistant
As a production assistant this summer, I worked for Game Show Network. The beginning of the summer was spent filming Season Two of the show Flip Side hosted by Jahleel White, while the latter portion was spent putting together the debut season of The Perfect Line hosted by Deborah Norville. Then, this winter, I joined the team of The 1% Club, hosted by Joel McHale.
I spoke with Grady College representative Sarah Freeman about my experience over the summer working on these wonderful shows, and about all the things I learned while being a part of them. Click the button below to read the interview!

Legal and Financial File Management
Scanning, filing, and managing NDAs were a central responsibility of my role as a PA. I maintained an organized digital database of all contestant and audience paperwork throughout both series, ensuring that all documents were properly labeled and filed. Similarly, I filed away detailed receipt reports, aiding our finance department in keeping track of production expenditures.
General Support
During my time as a PA, I gained a wide variety of odd skills. From a deep knowledge of fixing Xerox office printers to designing signage and learning how game judging mechanics work, I adapted to be able to support all areas of production.
Supplies Management
I worked closely with the script and production departments to ensure they had the materials needed to keep work running smoothly. Additionally, I collaborated with our Production Manager and Line Producer to ensure materials worked within the budget. Further, I conducted research on suppliers and stores in Georgia in order to locate unique and specific items.

UGA Athletics
DawgVision
As a part of the DawgVision team, I’ve helped cover a wide variety of sports for the ESPN and the SEC Network. As an audio technician, I use our music library to cover highlight packages, intro and outro sequences, and fullscreen graphics. As a technical director, I’ve learned how to operate the video switcher board and to work in tandem with the director.
Working with this team has been about more than learning how to operate equipment, though. It has also been about learning to think on my feet, and how to react quickly to what’s happening on the field or on the court.

As a part of a small team, I get the opportunity to step into a wide variety of roles. From being an A1 or a TD to stepping in to work as a utility for basketball games and a bug operator for football, I’ve had the unique chance to try my hand at a wide variety of the roles that go into making our campus sports productions happen!

Student Films
Nowhere – Short Film
Most recently, I worked as the Sound Recordist and Boom Operator for Aidan Landrum’s directorial debut, Nowhere.

While being an extra is not my usual role on set, I had such a great time working with fellow students on this project, and it was so cool to see how it all came together!
This was one of my first-ever student projects I worked on at UGA! I worked as a production assistant, and was so lucky to be surrounded by people who wanted to teach me about all the different on-set roles.
