About Valencia

You may be wondering: “Caroline, where on earth are you actually going?” This post is meant to answer that question. While I would hope all of my audience is aware of the location of Spain, it’s more than understandable that you don’t know where Valencia is. Valencia is a relatively large city. With a population of roughly 800,000 people, it is the third-largest city in Spain. The metropolitan area surrounding the city bumps that number to about 1.6 million.

Here’s a map to help visualize exactly where in Spain I’ll be:

Excitingly, I’ll only be about a 15-20 minute train ride from the water! Where I’ll be living is a part of the old city. My dorm building was built in the 1400s, which is a bit crazy to really think about. While much of Valencia is very historic, the portion of the city known as the City of Arts and Sciences appears as it is from years and years into the future.
